Every accident and injury is unique, but generally, you may have a case if your injuries were caused by someone else’s negligence, recklessness, or wrongdoing. In Kentucky, that could mean a careless driver, an unsafe workplace, a dangerous product, or a property owner who failed to keep their premises safe.
If you’re facing medical bills, lost wages, or pain and suffering because of an accident that wasn’t your fault, it’s worth speaking with an experienced personal injury attorney. At David Yates Law, we review the details of your situation, explain your rights under Kentucky law, and give you an honest assessment of your options — all at no cost to you.
-
The value of a personal injury case in Kentucky depends on many factors, including the severity of your injuries, medical expenses, lost income, future care needs, and the physical and emotional impact the accident has had on your life. No two cases are the same, and insurance companies often try to pay less than what your claim is truly worth.
At David Yates Law, we carefully evaluate every detail of your case, consult with medical experts when necessary, and fight to recover full compensation for your medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more. While no attorney can promise a specific dollar amount, we can promise to stand by your side and pursue the maximum recovery you deserve.
-
In Kentucky, which is a “no-fault” state, your own auto insurance typically covers your initial medical bills through Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits, regardless of who caused the accident. However, these benefits have limits, and if your injuries are serious or your expenses exceed that coverage, you may be able to seek additional compensation from the at-fault driver’s insurance company.
It’s important to remember that medical providers will expect payment while your case is ongoing. An experienced personal injury attorney can help you navigate insurance benefits, negotiate with providers, and pursue full compensation for your medical expenses, both now and in the future.
At David Yates Law, we make sure you understand your options and fight to hold the responsible parties accountable so you aren’t left paying for someone else’s mistake.

The timeline for a personal injury case can vary widely depending on the circumstances. Some cases may settle in just a few months, while others — especially those involving serious injuries or disputes over fault — can take a year or more to fully resolve. Factors such as the complexity of the accident, the length of your medical treatment, and whether the case goes to trial all affect how long it takes.
At David Yates Law, we never rush a case at the expense of your recovery. Our goal is to make sure you receive the full compensation you deserve. While we work diligently to resolve cases as efficiently as possible, we will always take the time needed to build the strongest case on your behalf.
David Yates
Owner & Attorney
Before his senior year of high school, David Yates was seriously injured when a sound system fell on him and another student. His family quickly learned how frustrating it can be when an insurance company refuses to take responsibility. With limited resources and little understanding of his rights, David experienced firsthand how accident victims can be bullied and left in the dark. That experience drives him today — to fight for families, demand accountability, and make sure no client ever feels powerless the way he once did.
David began his career as an Assistant Attorney General of Kentucky and a member of the Megan’s Law Enforcement Team, protecting children and families across the Commonwealth. Since then, he has dedicated his life to representing individuals and families harmed by negligence, combining legal skill and compassion to deliver justice for his clients
