David Yates was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. He graduated from Holy Cross High School in 1999 and attended the University of Louisville, receiving his BA in Political Science in 2003. He received his Juris Doctorate degree, on a full scholarship, from Salmon P. Chase College of Law: Northern Kentucky University in 2006. Before opening the Law Offices of David Yates in 2009, David clerked for the United States District Court, worked for the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Kentucky and was a civil litigation attorney for the UAW Legal. David also serves in his capacity as a Kentucky State Senator for District 37, which represents Louisville in the Legislature. He previously served ten years on the Louisville Metro Council and two terms as President.

Markie Bates was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Mercy Academy and attended the University of Louisville, majoring in Political Science and Paralegal Studies and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2013. Markie began her employment with the Law Offices of David Yates in January 2022 as a Certified Senior Paralegal. She began work in the legal field in 2012 and brings an extensive amount of legal knowledge to the firm. Her daily duties consist of communicating with clients, drafting and filing legal documents, along with maintaining updated case files and preparation for litigation cases.

Lindsey Yates was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated from Mercy Academy and attended Bellarmine University, receiving her BA in Business Administration and Communications in 2005. She received her MBA (Master's in Business Administration) from Sullivan University in 2016. Lindsey also holds certificates in Project Management such as, PMP. Lindsey brings an extensive amount of experience and knowledge in financial/accounting analytics, technology and project management. She manages and supports this firm by staying up to date on new technology and case management tools that will drive efficiency and productivity, while maintaining the highest quality of service to our clients.
